
Janice Fergusson
Janice Fergusson Nisbet, the Principal of Fergusson Law, took her law degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh and qualified as a solicitor with an eminent Edinburgh law firm. She spent many years as a Private Client Solicitor with the same law firm.
Janice has qualifications from the Association of Taxation Technicians in personal taxation, business taxation, accountancy, and the taxation of trusts and estates. Janice has ten years of experience in giving inheritance tax advice. She is also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and works part-time at the University of Edinburgh, tutoring on the Private Client course in the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Before becoming a lawyer, Janice worked for many years as an Inspector with the Health and Safety Executive, covering a range of industries. She has a post-graduate Diploma in Safety and Occupational Hygiene from the University of Aston in Birmingham.
She is a Technical Member of the Probate Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Janice has a degree in Modern Languages from St Andrews University and speaks French and German, having lived in both countries.
